We all ducked down in the doorway before the gletia shot could hurt us, but not before I heard a yelp. On the ground, I looked behind me and saw Ben clutching his shoulder. It was only then that I noticed tears streaming down my face.
I looked back at my mom. She was still sobbing at my dad’s feet. “MOM!” I screamed. “YOU NEED TO LET GO OF DAD!” “Daniel,” she whispered again. “Why Daniel? Why?” I looked back up at the vaxidies. “Huh,” said assumingly the vaxidie named Grudge. “Missed ‘em.” He lifted up the gletia again. “Main door deactivate,” I said silently. The door slid just as the shot hit. I could hear the sound ringing in my ears. It made a dent in the door.
“BELLATRIX!”screamed Westley. “YOU LEFT MOM OUT THERE!” I guess he saw my tears dropping on my nose because he didn’t shout anything else at me. “We would have died, Westley,” said Oliver, defending me. “Look at that dent. That could have been us.”
I heard a little whimper and looked over at Ben. Still clutching his shoulder, Ben was crying at nonstop. “Guys,” I said. “I’ll take care of Ben. You need to go back out there, except with weapons.” Everyone hustled in to different rooms. I lifted up Ben and took him to the infirmary.
“Hello? Bellatrix Nidey. I need gletia wound service here,” I said to the ITH. (Infirmary Technology Helper.) “GWS instructions operating,” said a calm voice. “Place wounded person on bedmatt, GWS will do the rest.” I placed Ben on the bedmatt I watched as robotic arms put a cooling pack on Ben’s shoulder. Ben sniffed. As I looked into his eyes I could tell he was in a lot of pain and miserable.
“Wait here,” I said to Ben. I ran down the corridor to Ben’s room. I picked up his favorite Foo-Boo doll. I ran back to the infirmary and handed Ben the doll. He held it close to his chest. “Ben,” I said. “I’m going to help everyone for a while. Is that okay with you?” Ben seemed to think about it. “Can I have a hug first?” I leaned over and gave him a bear hug. “Bye Bell-Bell,” he said. I turned and followed the hallway to the main door.
“Main door activate,” I said. I saw Kaylee was trying to lift up mom and dad, Greta was helping. Oliver and Westley were battling the vaxidies. Oliver was on top of one with a knife, and Westley had a gletia shooting at the other vaxidie. Westley probably got the gletia from dad’s stuff. My dad always loved martial arts with weapons. He was like that. “Bella!” shouted Greta. “Can you help us with this?!” I woke from my daze. “Y-yeah, sure,” I said stuttering. I picked up my dad’s body and carried him into the living quarters. Kaylee and Greta carried mom. We decided to leave mom in the living quarters with dad’s body.
“Okay,” I said to Kaylee and Greta. “Kaylee, can you check on Ben?” “No problem.” she said, and hurried off to the infirmary’s direction. “Greta?” I said. “Let’s help the guys.” She nodded. I dashed to my dad’s martial arts room. I picked out the nunchucks. Greta picked out a spear. “Ready?” I asked. “Yup,” she said with a smile on her face and we dashed outside.
Honestly, I don’t remember most of the battle. All I remembered was shouting, yelping and tumbling. The next thing I knew I was on the ground looking up at Greta. “Bella,” she said. “We have to go now.” I sat up, confused. “What happened?” I asked. “We knocked out both of the vaxidies,” she said. “We’ve got to escape while we can.” I bolted up. Oliver came over. “We need to get away from Lasdia,” he said. “The vaxidies would be able to track us if we stayed. We need to board a ship and go.” I tried to get the gears turning in my head. Leave? Ship? Go? Finally, I got it. “We have a ship,” I said. “Remember? Dad won it at an auction or something. We could use it.” They all exchanged glances. “Who would fly it?” asked Greta. I thought about it. “I would.” I said.
